The lifestyle
Four cities. One river. Surprisingly great life.
The Quad Cities — Davenport and Bettendorf on the Iowa side, Rock Island and Moline in Illinois — sit along one of America's great rivers and deliver a quality of life that consistently catches people off guard. The Mississippi here isn't scenery, it's a lifestyle: kayaking, fishing, river trails, and waterfront festivals that fill the calendar. The cost of living is genuinely low, the neighborhoods are safe and welcoming, and Chicago is a short drive away when you want a city fix. This is a place where your salary goes further, your commute is measured in minutes, and the pace of life is exactly what you want it to be after a stretch of demanding clinical work.
Mississippi River life
Kayaking, fishing, cycling the riverfront trail, and some of the Midwest's best sunset views — all from your backyard
Arts, music & culture
A rich arts scene, live music venues, and a calendar of festivals that punches well above the metro's size
Outstanding affordability
One of the most affordable mid-sized metros in the country — your compensation stretches meaningfully further here
Two states, one community
A uniquely connected bi-state metro with strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and Chicago 2.5 hours away
