ACS Level II Trauma Center
A leadership role with real clinical depth.
You will guide quality, performance improvement, trauma verification, and hospital collaboration while remaining clinically active in trauma and emergency general surgery. The position offers a direct opportunity to shape standards, mentor residents, and influence the long-term direction of the program.

The role
Medical Director responsibilities
Lead the program
✓ Provide overall clinical leadership
✓ Maintain ACS and state trauma compliance
✓ Direct QI and performance-improvement initiatives
✓ Participate in trauma committees
✓ Serve as liaison to hospital leadership

Clinical responsibilities
Remain clinically active
✓ Trauma and emergency general surgery
✓ Acute care surgery consults and operative cases
✓ Daily multidisciplinary inpatient rounds
✓ Resident education and supervision
✓ High-acuity clinical decision-making

Qualifications
Required credentials
✓ Board-Certified in General Surgery
✓ Board-Certified in Surgical Critical Care
✓ Five or more years post-fellowship experience
✓ Eligible for California medical licensure
✓ Board-Certified in Surgical Critical Care

Preferred experience
✓ Level I or Level II Trauma Center background
✓ Prior trauma program leadership
✓ Experience with ACS verification and PI
